Rome: Latin Inscription Reader
Read and understand Latin inscriptions — the photo is read on the device, no account and no server of ours
Support
Last updated: 5 September 2026 · Rome: Latin Inscription Reader · iOS: ch.babala.latin
The app takes a still photo of an inscription with the camera, recognises the text on the device (Apple’s text recognition plus the app’s own rules), resolves abbreviations and titles, dates the inscription from its offices and titles, and shows a translation and explanation. It also contains an Atlas of inscriptions and places, a Latin course, reference tables and a Decoder for typing letters in. The price is paid once through the App Store; there are no in-app purchases and no subscription. Questions: info@babala.ch.

So that we can help quickly
- Tell us the app, your device (e.g. iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android) and the operating system version.
- Describe what you did and what happened instead — a screenshot often helps.
- Do not include any personal or business data from the app — we do not need it, and the app does not transmit it to us.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases run exclusively through the store you obtained the app from. Refunds and subscription cancellations are handled by that store: on iPhone, iPad and Mac under “Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions” or via reportaproblem.apple.com. We are happy to help with questions about this.
