Backing Band: Chord Charts
Write chord progressions and play along with a virtual band — fully offline, no account and no server
Support
Last updated: 5 September 2026 · Backing Band: Chord Charts · iOS: ch.babala.backingband
You write your own chord progressions (bar-grid editor or text), choose one of 50 styles, and the app plays a virtual band along with it — with tempo, loop, count-in, transposition, automatic tempo increase, key cycling, chord diagrams, scale suggestions, setlists and export as PDF or as a Backing Band file (.bbchart). All calculations and the sound run on the device. Files only leave the device when you share them yourself through the iOS share sheet. The purchase price is paid once through the App Store; there are no in-app purchases and no subscription.

So that we can help quickly
- Tell us the app, your device (e.g. iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android) and the operating system version.
- Describe what you did and what happened instead — a screenshot often helps.
- Do not include any personal or business data from the app — we do not need it, and the app does not transmit it to us.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases run exclusively through the store you obtained the app from. Refunds and subscription cancellations are handled by that store: on iPhone, iPad and Mac under “Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions” or via reportaproblem.apple.com. We are happy to help with questions about this.
